Areas of Practice
Mr. Schmidt has been with Emilio Law Group, APC since 2007. He has extensive experience representing businesses in complex litigation matters and class actions involving contractual disputes, business torts, and employment claims. Mr. Schmidt has litigated cases in both state and federal Courts, and has argued trials to conclusion before both Jury and judges. He has also successfully argued before the California Court of Appeal. He is known for his ability to resolve complex and high-emotion cases through settlement, and his keen ability to persuade parties, judges and juries to his clients positions.

His areas of practice include employment actions including wrongful termination, discrimination and harassment, wage and hour litigation including overtime, labor code violations, and class actions, collections, construction law, and contract claims. Mr. Schmidt has also represented a large number of small businesses on ADA (Americans with Disabilities) claims, helping both to bring their businesses into compliance with the law to avoid future claims, as well as resolve the litigation. Mr. Schmidt has represented businesses across almost every type of industry from large Corporations to small mom-and-pop business in fields of Real Estate, Investment, Manufacturing, Construction, Retail and Service businesses. He has also represented individuals in their claims.

He serves the Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, Santa Barbara, Ventura and San Diego Counties. In addition to his legal experience, Mr. Schmidt is also very active in his community, volunteering and serving in his church and busy raising his three young sons with his wife Hanne. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Schmidt worked two years in El Salvador, and also interned in the Orange County Public Defenders office.
